Brgy. Ginebra and Converge dispute solo sixth spot as they duke it out in the PBA On Tour at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan Sunday.
Holding identical 4-4 win-loss cards, the Gin Kings and the FiberXers break their standoff in their 7:30 p.m. clash, with the winners keeping a spot in the upper half of the chart going to their last two games in the preseason series.
The two teams found themselves lumped together as the Kings lost their last game against the Meralco Bolts, 93-106, while the FiberXers drubbed the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 104-90, the last time out.
With three games to go, both sides look to at least win twice to finish above the .500 mark or be among the Top Six.
And thus the Kings and the FiberXers are expected to go hard at each other in the tour’s Sunday visit in San Juan.
Even sans their big guns, coach Richard del Rosario and his crew had pieced together three straight games before being stopped by the Bolts.
The FiberXers, meanwhile, stayed on a rollercoaster ride, winning the last time largely behind the big explosion of rookie aspirant Jolo Mendoza from Ateneo.
