Some of Barangay Ginebra’s players may not be completely in game-shape yet, but the Kings have already displayed the full package as a team.

More tests still has to be hurdled, however, starting with Magnolia Ang Pambansang Manok in the latest “Manila Clasico” duel Sunday in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart 5G-powered AUF Sports Arena in Angeles City.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone has been on the other side of the bench, steering the former Purefoods franchise to five championships in his tenure there from 2011 and 2015 and he would only go so far as saying the much-hyped match-up between the two most popular ballclubs in the country is a “fun” one where his current players need no extra words as spur from him.

“I mean that’s one of the games I don’t have to say any great words to motivate because they’re automatically motivated when you come to them,” said Cone.

“It’s great rivalry, it’s a fun rivalry. I’ve been fortunately on both sides… so I know what it was like from both sides. So, it’s really a great rivalry.”

There’s more at stake in this duel.
