Magnolia is now 14-0 dating back to the preseason On Tour, pulling off its latest win via a 93-91 come-from-behind jolter over Barangay Ginebra Sunday at the Big Dome.
Tyler Bey and his teammates made a giant fightback from 26 points down and beat the stunned Ginebra side at the finish to make it four in a row in PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup.
Bey was wrecking ball, getting the Hotshots back into the game and dismantling the Kings in another Manila Clasico that turned to be a real classic.
The Magnolia prized find, a former Dallas Maverick, scored 16 of his 31 points in the fourth period, including the go-ahead charities as the Hotshots salvaged what’s easily the biggest fightback win in the tourney thus far.
It had looked a won ball game for Ginebra at the half with the Kings sitting on a 60-35 cushion.
But the Hotshots clawed back into the fight right in the next period, 64-72, and pursued the chase, finally catching up at 83-all on a Bey floater.
And Bey himself gave the Hotshots their first taste of the lead on a jam, and there’s no more stopping the Hotshots from pulling off the steal.
