Meralco def Brgy. Ginebra, 103-91 [SF Game 2 | PBA S48 PH Cup | May 19, 2024]

The Meralco Bolts have things to ponder following their 92-88 loss to the Barangay Gin Kings Friday.

But engaging the Kings in a toe-to-toe duel in the first half then charging back after falling behind by 13 should not shake up their belief and confidence that they stand a chance at beating their old rivals in their PBA Philippine Cup Last Four waltz.

Coach Luigi Trillo and his troops look to come out stronger as they seek an equalizer in Game Two of the race-to-four-games series Sunday at the MOA Arena.

It’s a quick turnaround from Game One at the same playing venue and so not much adjustments could be made.

Nonetheless, the burden of adjustments is on the Bolts in the 3 p.m. setto.

But the Kings are not about to get comfortable and complacent, knowing well it’s a long battle.

“The bottom line is it’s Game One,” Ginebra coach Tim Cone said. “It’s a long series. It’s a lot of games ahead of us. It’s just nice to get the first one out of the way, as it always is in a series.”

These two teams have been in previous long series, and not one came down easy.
