It’s supposed conference debut delayed by Typhoon Karding, Barangay Ginebra will instead go up against Rain or Shine to kick off its campaign in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the MOA Arena in Pasay City Wednesday.

The postponement of the game Sunday that would have pitted Ginebra against Converge just gave the Gin Kings extra days to get new recruits Jamie Malonzo and Von Pessumal more adapted into their system.

They finally set out for a drive towards reclaiming the crown the team won in 2018 as they slug it out with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters — the 2016 titlists — at 5:45 p.m.

Th Elasto Painters eye a bounceback from a failed effort for a winning start in their return engagement with coach Yeng Guiao.

NLEX import Earl Clark produced 26 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, leading the Road Warriors to a 96-90 decision against the E-Painters and their coach of six years.

With more practice sessions under Guiao, the Elasto Painters hope to do better in their second outing.

They’re convinced they have to step up as they face tall odds against the talented Ginebra crew that have become a lot more potent with the entry of Malonzo and Pessumal.
