TNT def Brgy. Ginebra, 87-85 [Finals Game 3 | PBA S49 Comm’s Cup | Mar. 19, 2025]

The battle for supremacy intensifies on Wednesday as TNT and Barangay Ginebra prepare to clash in Game 3 of the PBA Season Commissioner’s Cup Finals at PhilSports Arena in Pasig, setting the stage for what has evolved into a defense-heavy championship series.

The best-of-seven showdown is knotted at 1-1, following Ginebra’s thrilling 71-70 victory over TNT in a nail-biting Game 2 last Sunday.

The Tropang Giga claimed the series opener with a decisive 95-89 win, showcasing their offensive prowess.

Justin Brownlee was a man on a mission in Game 2, exploding for 35 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, propelling the Gin Kings to a well-deserved triumph.

In stark contrast, his counterpart, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, found himself stymied by Ginebra’s relentless defense, hitting only 6 of 23 attempts from the field as he fought hard to secure his 25 points in Game 2.

The former Brooklyn Nets star had a chance to seal the game but was forced into an off-balance shot in the final seconds, thanks to Stephen Holt’s suffocating defense.

Coach Tim Cone emphasized the critical importance of winning Game 3 and highlighted the necessity of keeping Hollis-Jefferson from establishing his rhythm, setting the stage for a pivotal showdown.
