Brgy. Ginebra vs TNT Finals series opener now the most viewed game inside PBA bubble

The first game of the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup finals between Brgy. Ginebra and TNT attracted the most number of online viewers in the league bubble in Clark, Pampanga.

The best-of-seven series opener reached a peak of 280.4K simultaneous users online as per latest figures provided by One Sports. The game, which was televised on TV5, ONE Sports and PBA Rush, had a total reach of 2.2 million and was viewed 1.76 million times.

The Gin Kings won the game in overtime, 100-94, to draw first blood.

League officials are hoping that the figures continue to rise as the series goes on since the lone conference of the 45th season will come to an end in two weeks time.

Aside from having the most watched game online, the crowd darlings also hold the two others in the top three.

The win-or-go home match featuring the Gin Kings and the Meralco Bolts in the semifinal round grabbed the second spot with a total of 278.2K online views while the elimination game against Beau Belga and the rest of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters came in third with 177.8K views.

The only non-Brgy. Ginebra game to draw a significant amount of viewers was the elimination round match between Phoenix Super LPG and NLEX as 120K fans witnessed the return of Calvin Abueva from a 16-month suspension.

Game 2 of the ongoing championship round is scheduled on Wednesday, December 2, 6:00 pm at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
