Christian Standhardinger begs off from PBA All-Star Game

Team Japeth will be without their top pick, Christian Standhardinger, for the upcoming PBA All-Star Game at the University of St. La Salle gymnasium in Bacolod.

The Fil-German big man from Brgy. Ginebra fell ill and won’t be able to participate in his scheduled events in the City of Smiles on March 23 and 24.

Standhardinger’s absence comes as a blow to the team, as he was selected first overall by Japeth Aguilar during the All-Star drafting.

Deputy commissioner Eric Castro confirmed that Standhardinger was feeling under the weather, experiencing vomiting and discomfort.

Unfortunately, his last-minute withdrawal means that his spot on Team Japeth will not be filled for the main event of the All-Star weekend. This setback adds to the absence of Scottie Thompson, another Gin King who begged off earlier due to a back injury.

While Standhardinger will not be able to compete in the Skills Challenge (Obstacle Course), his place will be taken by rookie teammate Ralph Cu.

Despite these unexpected changes, Team Japeth will still be looking to put on a strong performance in the main game this coming Sunday.
