Christian Standhardinger ready to go against Blackwater, says Tim Cone

Christian Standhardinger will be available for Brgy. Ginebra’s game against Blackwater on Friday, November 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The 33-year old Fil-German missed the Gin Kings’ match against San Miguel prior to the extended break due to pain in his knee.

Brgy. Ginebra head coach Tim Cone, however, bared that Standhardinger has started attending team practices and could suit up for the crucial game against the Bossing.

“Christian returned to practice and says he’s ready to go on Friday,” said Cone.

The league’s winningest mentor admitted that the crowd darlings weren’t prepared to take on the Beermen without their starting center but reigning PBA MVP Scottie Thompson saved the day for the squad by draining the game-winning triple.

Standhardinger is currently averaging 11.5 points and 7.2 rebounds through six games in the Season 47 Commissioner’s Cup.

The Gin Kings were given a 12-day break as Cone, together with Thompson, Jamie Malonzo and Japeth Aguilar, were part of the Gilas Pilipinas crew in the 5th window of the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers. The national team won both games on the road to improve to 5-3 going into the final window set for February next year.
