‘Iron Man’ streak in danger as LA Tenorio listed as questionable for game against NLEX
Brgy. Ginebra chief playmaker LA Tenorio entered the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga on Wednesday and brought with him a piece of bad news.
While the 36-year old native of Nasugbu, Batangas made it just in time for the team’s opening game against the NLEX Road Warriors, strict health protocols and a recent appendectomy might keep him from suiting up.
Tenorio is required to undergo room quarantine and can only join the scrimmages once his swab test result comes out negative.
Aside from that, the 3-time PBA Finals MVP needs clearance from his doctor since recovery time from laparoscopic surgery is around 2 weeks.
“Questionable pa. Sabi ng doctor, day-to-day basis talaga. Sabi kailangan niya makita everyday (yung condition ko) through video call,” said Tenorio.
“Kaya yung healing process mabilis-bilis. Pero siyempre kailangan pa rin talaga may clearance,” he added.
The questionable status puts his ‘Iron Man’ streak of 641 consecutive games played in the PBA in danger.
Despite the uncertainty, there’s still a slight chance and Tenorio is keeping his fingers crossed that he would be given the go-signal to play in this Sunday’s main event.
“Sana maging okay na this week.”
