Japeth Aguilar fined ₱20K, ordered to underdo swab test for breaking GCQ protocols

Brgy. Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar and Rain or Shine rookie Adrian Wong were both slapped with a ₱20,000 fine by the PBA for breaking General Community Quarantine (GCQ) protocols.

The 33-year old Aguilar, along with Wong and Gilas Pilipinas pool member Isaac Go, were captured on video playing in a 5-on-5 pickup game last Thursday at Ronac Gym.

The video, which was uploaded by a certain Rafi Silerio on his Instagram account, has since been deleted.

Aguilar and Wong, after meeting with league commissioner Willie Marcial, were also ordered to take a swab test no later than Tuesday. Both will then have to undergo a 14-day quarantine before taking another swab test as a confirmatory procedure.

Deputy Commissioner Eric Castro, who was also present in the meeting along with PBA legal consultant Atty. Melvin Mendoza, disclosed that the two will also have to perform 30 hours of community service.

Go, on the other hand, only received a stern warning from Marcial.

After the meeting, Aguilar and Wong also had a talk with Games and Amusements Board officials composed of Commissioner Eduardo Trinidad, Pro basketball and Other Pro Games Division Chief Dioscoro Bautista and GAB official Rodil Manaog.
