Japeth Aguilar, LA Tenorio to enter PBA bubble within the week, says Tim Cone
Brgy. Ginebra is already inside the PBA bubble in Clark, Pampanga and the team’s legion of supporters have immediately noticed one thing – two key players are missing from the Gin Kings’ workouts and practices.
As evidenced by the videos posted on social media sites by some of their teammates, chief playmaker LA Tenorio and 2019 Governors’ Cup Finals MVP are not with the team yet.
Head coach Tim Cone confirmed this scenario and stressed that there’s nothing to worry about as the duo is expected to come on board within the week.
“LA is scheduled for the 7th, while Japeth is tentatively for the 9th,” wrote Cone on a text message to Spin.ph.
The 62-year old American mentor, however, didn’t divulge the exact reason behind Tenorio and Aguilar’s late entry which insiders claim is due to health and family issues.
The 36-year Tenorio just recently celebrated the birth of his daughter and is still attending to the needs of his family. In addition, there are reports that the 4th overall pick of the 2006 draft underwent an appendectomy sometime last week.
The high-flying Aguilar, on the other hand, is reportedly undergoing rehab for an old injury.
The two have played key roles in the Gin Kings’ recent campaigns which netted the league’s most popular squad 4 titles in the last 4 seasons.
