Japeth Aguilar signs fresh three-year pact with Brgy. Ginebra

Japeth Aguilar is staying in the Philippines and with Brgy. Ginebra, at least for the next three years.

The 34-year old Aguilar, who is reportedly being pursued by several teams from the Japan B.League, signed the extension deal together with wife Cassie and agent Marvin Espiritu.

Terms of the new contract were not disclosed but sources claim that the deal is in the neighborhood of what June Mar Fajardo, currently the league’s highest paid player, is getting from the San Miguel Beermen.

The Gin Kings are set to announce the development in the coming days.

At least four teams from Japan are reportedly monitoring the status of the 2019 Governors’ Cup Finals MVP whose previous contract with the crowd darlings lapsed on midnight of December 31.

The Governors’ Cup defending champions, however, jumped the gun on the Japanese and locked up the high-flyer from Sasmuan, Pampanga until 2025. He would be 37 by the time the deal expires and any hopes of playing overseas would have faded away already.
