Japeth heartbroken by Greg’s decision to take a break: “It will never be the same”

Japeth Aguilar expressed his brokenheartedness on the sudden decision of frontcourt buddy Greg Slaughter to ‘take a break’ from playing in the PBA after his contract with Brgy. Ginebra expired.

“It will never be the same,” wrote Aguilar on his Twitter account followed by a heartbreak emoji.

The 6-foot-9 Aguilar, who is currently in Florence, Italy for a long-delayed honeymoon with wife Cassy Naidas, similarly responded to his 7-foot teammate’s Instagram post regarding the forthcoming leave.

“Gonna miss you brother,” wrote Aguilar again followed by a heartbreak emoji. “But I know the best is yet to come for you. Love you.”

Slaughter responded with a similarly emotional message.

“Love you too bro! It’s Been a pleasure hooping beside you this past decade,” replied the former Ateneo de Manila slotman.

Together, they were christened as the “Twin Towers” and won a total of four championships in the PBA. Aguilar bagged the Finals MVP award during the team’s recent victory in the 2019 Governors’ Cup while Slaughter was crowned as the Best Player of the Conference during the 2017 edition of the season-ending conference which the Gin Kings also won.
