Jared Dillinger appeals to fans: ‘Stop voting for me’

Jared Dillinger kindly asked fans to refrain from voting for him in the upcoming PBA All-Star Game set in Bacolod this year.

The Brgy. Ginebra veteran took to his Twitter/X account a few days ago to express his gratitude but also stressed that there are many other players who deserve the All-Star spot more than him.

“The lovely fans have me ranked No. 27 on All-Star voting for this year,” wrote Dillinger. “It’s all over. But stop voting for me. I don’t deserve to be there, let’s be real now.”

The league has given fans the opportunity to select the 24 players for the All-Star event through voting both at the playing venues and online. However, starting this year, the league has also designated four slots to be determined by the coaches and media through voting as well.

The initial results of the voting revealed that nine Gin Kings made it to the Top 24. Among them, Japeth Aguilar, Scottie Thompson, Christian Standhardinger, LA Tenorio, and Jamie Malonzo secured the top five positions.

The team captains of the All-Star Game will be determined by the top two vote-getters. In the previous year’s All-Star Game held in Passi, Iloilo, Team Japeth emerged victorious with a score of 140-136 against Team Scottie. Paul Lee brought home the MVP trophy.
