Justin Brownlee set for Alab Pilipinas return

San Miguel Alab Pilipinas got a major boost for its campaign in the 10th season of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) with the confirmed return of Brgy. Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee.

The 31-year old 4-time PBA champion, who first suited up for the Philippine representative to the regional league 2 seasons ago and led the team all the way to the title, will take the place of Prince Williams who could only contribute 9.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in six games.

Williams, who was an NBA G-League veteran, came in as a replacement for Khalif Wyatt just last month.

This marks the 4th time that Alab has switched reinforcements. Nick King replaced Renaldo Balkman who begged off due to personal issues while Sam Deguara took the place of the ineffective Adrian Forbes.

The Jimmy Alapag-mentored squad is currently running second in the team standings with a 9-5 record but has struggled in recent games, losing 4 of its last 9 outings.

Brownlee, who posted averages of 21.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks in 25 games during his maiden stint, will make his debut on Wednesday, February 19 against the Kuala Lumpur Dragons at the MABA Stadium in Malaysia.
