LA Tenorio joins Brgy. Ginebra group practices, admits having second thoughts on PBA restart

After going solo for the past couple of months due to the pregnancy of wife Chesca, Brgy. Ginebra chief playmaker LA Tenorio finally joined the Gin Kings’ group workout Monday at The Upper Deck gym in Pasig City.

The 36-year old Tenorio, who celebrated the birth of daughter Solana Therese last Thursday September 17, took part in his first session with groupmates Scottie Thompson, Kent Salado and Arvin Tolentino. The quartet was supervised by team assistant coach Kirk Collier.

“Yes nag-join na din ako sa small group practice ng Ginebra noong Monday pa actually,” wrote Tenorio on a text message to Manila Bulletin.

With the planned PBA restart in Clark, Pampanga just a few weeks away and expected to last for around two months, the 14-year veteran admitted having second thoughts on leaving behind his four young kids.

“Parang mahirap, kasi on my part, to be honest, having a baby and three boys growing. Honestly, nag-dalawang isip ako,” said Tenorio.

He, however, understands that it’s all part of the job and that it’s a sacrifice he’s willing to take.

“As a professional this is part of our job. Wala naman may gusto ng nangyari na ito sa atin. It’s not gonna be easy away from your family for two months,” stressed the 5-time PBA champion.

“But on the other hand, I’ll use this also as my motivation. I’ll go there and play for my family and make sure that I’ll make the most out of my time in the bubble. We as a player have to be positive lang talaga,” he added.
