Mark Caguioa tight-lipped on future with Brgy. Ginebra

Brgy. Ginebra veteran Mark Caguioa remained reluctant when asked about whether he would return into the fold or would finally retire after a 20-year stint with the Gin Kings, the team that picked him 3rd overall in the 2001 PBA draft.

The 2012 MVP bared his intention of playing with Ginebra for his 20th season after bagging his ninth championship during the Philippine Cup last year in Clark, Pampanga and after which, he would decide on his next career move.

At the onset of the Philippine Cup, Caguioa was placed on the unrestricted free agent list due to ‘personal issues’ as per head coach Tim Cone.

Meanwhile, the 42-year old Fil-Am joined fellow Gin Kings LA Tenorio, Joe Devance, Japeth Aguilar, Stanley Pringle, and Scottie Thompson during the release of the commemorative stamp of PBA icon Robert “Sonny” Jaworski Jr. at the Post Office in Intramuros on Saturday, October 16.

It was MC47’s first public appearance after being placed to the reserved pool and was later relegated to the unrestricted free agent list with rights to salary as the elimination round of the Philippine Cup 2020 was about to end.

Brgy. Ginebra survived Phoenix Super LPG’s fierce challenge for the last quarterfinals berth and struggled to stay alive in the Philippine Cup as they were eliminated early by top seed and twice-to-beat TNT Tropang Giga.
