PBA set to summon Japeth Aguilar for taking part in 5-on-5 scrimmage

The PBA Commissioner’s Office has summoned Brgy. Ginebra forward Japeth Aguilar for allegedly taking part in a 5-on-5 scrimmage along with Rain or Shine’s Adrian Wong and Columbian’s Isaac Go.
The video, which was uploaded by a certain Rafi Silerio on his Instagram account, showed Aguilar and Go playing in a full-court game at Ronac Gym in Greenhills which is in clear violation of the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) guidelines being enforced by the Inter-Agency Task Force against Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).
League commissioner Willie Marcial has set a meeting with the concerned players in order to get their side of the story.
“Kakausapin ko muna so I can get their side,” said Marcial who added that he has already reminded all the teams that practices and scrimmages are still not allowed by the government.
Wong, who was taken in by the Elasto Painters with the 5th overall pick in the regular round of last year’s rookie draft, wasn’t part of the scrimmage but was in the group photos along with the other players which included Thirdy Ravena and Kobe Paras.

Go, on the other hand, was chosen 1st overall in the special round by the Dyip. He is a member of the Gilas Pilipinas pool and is technically still under the supervision of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)
Marcial disclosed that he will be reviewing videos of the said incident before talking to the players with the hope that penalties won’t be handed down by the IATF.
“Sana hindi umabot doon,” he said.
