Prince Caperal signs one-year extension with Brgy. Ginebra
With Greg Slaughter’s status still uncertain, Brgy. Ginebra wasted no time in locking up big man Prince Caperal for one more year.
The 6-foot-7 Caperal was formally inked to a one-year contract extension by the Gin Kings last Tuesday.
The value of the 26-year old product of Arellano University became more pronounced following the decision of Slaughter to take an indefinite leave from the team in order to ‘work on all aspects of himself’.
Caperal, who was plucked by Brgy. Ginebra from the unrestricted free agent list two years ago after being dropped by Columbian (then KIA), has been described by head coach Tim Cone as a big man with ‘high basketball IQ’.
With the 7-foot Slaughter now out of the line-up for the upcoming Philippine Cup, Caperal is expected to share frontcourt duties with 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals MVP Japeth Aguilar and Joe Devance.
