Pringle drops 31 as Brgy. Ginebra survives Alaska to get back on winning track
Stanley Pringle displayed his best game in a Brgy. Ginebra uniform to power the Gin Kings to a much-needed 87-81 victory over Alaska, Tuesday night in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.
The 33-year old Fil-Am scattered 31 points including seven straight in the crucial stretch of the payoff period which kept the Aces at bay and gave the crowd darlings their 5th win in 7 outings and a step closer to a spot in the quarterfinal round.
“Stanley’s the most consistent player in the league, much less Ginebra,” said head coach Tim Cone during the post-game presser.
“It’s such a luxury to have a guy like Stanley on the team who can do so many things. The great thing about Stanley is that he’s not a spoiled superstar, he doesn’t think about himself at any moment,” he added.
Japeth Aguilar and Aljon Mariano contributed 14 points apiece while Scottie Thompson chipped in 11 markers, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals.
The Gin Kings return to action the very next day against the struggling NorthPort Batang Pier.
