Released by Brgy. Ginebra, Teytey Teodoro set for Batangas return in MPBL
Teytey Teodoro is set for a return trip to the Batangas Athletics in the MPBL after being released by Brgy. Ginebra.
The 26-year old Teodoro, who initially signed a one-conference deal with the Gin Kings before being extended for the entire season, was drafted 23rd overall by Columbian Dyip in the 2018 draft but was left unsigned.
Despite hardly seeing any action for the crowd darlings, the former Jose Rizal University Heavy Bomber became an instant fan favorite who won’t be leaving the big league empty-handed as was part of the team’s 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup championship roster.
Athletics team official Jean Alabanza confirmed the development and disclosed that Teodoro will suit up for the team when it clashes with Valenzuela on Saturday night at the Valenzuela Astrodome.
The 5-foot-8 playmaker, who has been practicing with the Athletics for a week already, was part of the Batangas team that ruled the inaugural season of the league founded by boxing great Manny Pacquiao.
