San Miguel Corp. lends a helping hand

A conglomerate with champion PBA ball clubs, San Miguel Corp. is focused at the moment on its community social responsibility programs with the country in the midst of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Upon the orders of SMC chairman and president Ramon S. Ang, the giant diversified company is flexing its muscles and using its resources to be able to help the Filipino people in crisis.

The Ginebra plant, for one, is now producing rubbing alcohol to be given for free to the people while San Mig Food is operating 24/7 to make sure the supply chain is stable and there would be enough food for the Filipinos nationwide for the next several months.

Ang showed great leadership and goodness of heart as captain of the industry, leaving just almost everybody in awe.

The SMC top boss was even given special mention by President Rodrigo Duterte in the latter’s address to the nation, announcing the enhanced community quarantine implemented by the government in Luzon Monday night.

“Never say die! SMC to produce alcohol in Ginebra plant which RSA (Ang) plans to donate to LGU’s, hospitals,” SMC sports director and Barangay Ginebra Kings team governor Alfrancis Chua posted on his Facebook account.

“That’s our boss. Tunay na Filipino,” said Rene Pardo, the Magnolia Hotshots representative in the PBA board.
