TNT set to parade standby import Leon Gilmore in KO match vs Brgy. Ginebra

TNT will be parading a new reinforcement for its knockout match against Brgy. Ginebra in the quarterfinal round of the 2021 PBA Governors’ Cup.

Leon Gilmore III will be taking the place of Tropang Giga import Aaron Fuller who, according to team manager Gabby Cui, suffered a calf injury during the team’s 104-92 loss to the Gin Kings last Wednesday.

The 26-year old Gilmore, who is listed as 6-foot-7, played college ball for NCAA Divison 1 school Stephen F. Austin. He saw action for the Wisconsin Herd and the Texas Legends in the G League.

Gilmore has been cleared by league to play on Saturday after passing the height requirement. He has been practicing with the team for quite sometime already as its standby import.

The Gin Kings will try to ride the momentum of their scintillating Game 1 victory over the flagship team of the MVP group in order to advance to the semifinals and continue with their quest for a fourth Governors’ Cup title in the last five stagings of the season-ending conference.

The Magnolia Hotshots bagged the crown in 2018 while the 2020 edition was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
