WATCH: All 18 three-pointers of Brgy. Ginebra in Finals Game 3!

Brgy. Ginebra buried TNT in an avalanche of three-pointers in the payoff period and coasted to a 14-point victory, 117-103, Friday night in Game 3 of the best-of-seven championship series at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Gin Kings entered the final frame on top by 6, 87-81, but the Tropang Giga were able to pull abreast at 88 with still 8 minutes remaining on the game clock. The fightback, however, proved to be their last stand as the defending champs drained 5 triples in a span of less than 4 minutes to seal the deal and clinch their second win.

Stanley Pringle came up with his best performance of the conference and scored 22 points on a perfect 7-of-7 from the field including 6-of-6 from the 3-point country. The 36-year-old Fil-Am shot 2-of-2 from the stripe and also had 3 rebounds and 3 assists in 29 minutes of play.

“We shot the ball real well tonight from different angles led by Stanley,” said Brgy. Ginebra head coach Tim Cone during the post-game presser. “Stanley got us ahead and kept us in the game in the first half and hit big shots in the second half.”

“But it was more of the job that the other guys knew and realized that they need to pick it up for Justin [Brownlee]. We can’t keep going to Justin, Justin, Justin all the time. Other guys have to contribute. Other guys have to be aggressive and take their shots,” he added.

Brownlee paced the crowd darlings with 29 points to go with 8 boards, 5 assists, a steal and a block while Jamie Malonzo added a huge double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Scottie Thompson finished with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals and a block while leading BPC candidate Christian Standhardinger contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Gin Kings will try to move one win away from a successful title defense when the two sides clash anew on Game 4 which is set on Sunday, April 16, 6:00pm also at the Big Dome.
