WATCH: Boy Kurot strikes again!
The TNT Tropang Giga made a big turnaround from their shooting struggle the last time, striking back with a ferocious stand and a torrid shooting.
The Tropa torched the Barangay Ginebra Kings with a 15-of-35 three-point shooting on the way to a series-leveling 95-82 triumph in Game 2 of the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
“Sabi namin sa sarili namin tapos na iyong Game 1. Kinalimutan na namin iyon,” said Calvin Oftana, among the gunners making things happen as they bounced back from their 102-90 defeat in Game 1.
Oftana, Mikee Williams, RR Pogoy, Glenn Khobuntin and Jayson Castro all fired at least two treys each – a huge turnaround from their Easter Sunday showing where the team bled with a 9-of-35 clip.
“We decided not to take it lightly, and Rondae (Hollis-Jefferson) was everything for us tonight,” said TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa.
Though forced to play small ball with the early fouls committed by Poy Erram, things worked together for the Tropa in their wire-to-wire bounceback win.
Jefferson put together a near triple-double game with 23 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists, Williams banged way 21 points including five three-pointers while RR Pogoy tallied 17 markers counting three triples plus seven rebounds and three assists.
