WATCH: Brgy. Ginebra without Greg Slaughter

Brgy. Ginebra continued on with its winning ways, this time blowing past the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters, 86-71, Wednesday in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Stanley Pringle and Prince Caperal presided once more over a balanced Gin Kings attack as the league’s most popular squad improved to 4-0 for a share of top spot with idle TNT Tropang Giga in the team standings.

Pringle led the team with 20 points while Caperal finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 boards to go along with 5 assists and a block.

“Obviously we played really good defense. I thought we played really well against Matthew Wright especially but we got an assist from Talk ‘N Text. Right now Phoenix is going through a real murderous time in their schedule. You had to play Talk ‘N Text who plays with tremendous pace – up and down, up and down, and then you have to turn it around a day and a half later and play us,” said head coach Tim Cone during the post-game presser.

“We had an extra day off. We weren’t playing Talk ‘N Text. So as much as I like our defense tonight, I have to give an assist for Talk ‘N Text for wearing them out. But we’ll take it,” he added.

2019 Governors’ Cup Finals MVP Japeth Aguilar contributed 13 while Scottie Thompson and LA Tenorio chipped in 11 and 9 markers, respectively.

The Gin Kings return to the court on Sunday, October 25 for ‘Bubble Clasico’.
