Brgy. Ginebra vs Terrafirma | PBA Season 47 Commissioner's Cup

Justin Brownlee came through with a triple-double performance to lead Brgy. Ginebra past a hapless Terrafirma side, 111-90, Friday night in the elimination round of the PBA Season 47 Commissioner’s Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 34-year old resident reinforcement of the Gin Kings finished with 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting including 3-of-7 from 3-point country to go with 11 boards, 11 assists and 2 blocks in 31 minutes of play.

The victory was the crowd darlings’ 4th in 6 starts while the loss kept the Dyip winless in 7 outings.

“He’s like our comfort blanket — when he’s out there, we’re really comfortable with what we do, we know we have a guy that does various things. He doesn’t just score,” said Brgy. Ginebra head coach Tim Cone on Brownlee during the post-game press conference.

“He’s a lot of fun to play with, as you can see the joy the players have when playing with him,” he added.

Christian Standhardinger contributed 19 points while Japeth Aguilar added 13. Scottie Thompson, Jamie Malonzo and Jeremiah Gray chipped in 12, 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

“First of all, you don’t take anything for granted,” said Cone on the lopsided win against the league’s perennial cellar-dweller. “I’ve learned through the 30 years of coaching here, you take something for granted, you’re going to get burned. I know because I’ve been burned many, many times in my career.”
