PBA Season 46 Governors' Cup
Brgy. Ginebra has much to be joyful about heading to the brief Holy Week break.
There’s the coronation of Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee as the Best Player of the Conference and the Best Import.
There’s the much-awaited return of Japeth Aguilar from his injury.
And most important of all, the Gin Kings gained a big relief in a spirited performance versus a stunned Meralco side Wednesday that forged a 2-2 standoff in the PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-seven titular playoff.
Shifting to high gear in the third quarter, Brownlee and his teammates ripped a tight game open en route to a 95-84 victory before a roaring crowd of over 17,000 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The series is back to scratch as the Gin Kings and the Bolts resume their virtual ping pong showdown on Easter Sunday also at the Big Dome.
They fight for the 3-2 go-ahead victory, with the winner to enjoy a first crack at wrapping up the series Wednesday. Game 7, if necessary, is Friday, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
