Brgy. Ginebra pulled off an easy 112-100 victory over NorthPort, Wednesday night in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.

The win gave the Gin Kings a 6-2 record, good for a share of the lead in the team standings with TNT and more importantly a spot in the next round of the compressed All-Filipino conference.

Stanley Pringle fired 17 points built on 5-of-7 shooting from long distance to lead a balanced attack which saw 8 Brgy. Ginebra players score 10 points or more.

“It still showed up, the fact that we were playing a back-to-back. We really, really had a tough game against Alaska last night. Our guys got extended minutes. Stanley, LA (Tenorio) and Scottie (Thompson) all played 40 minutes and we had to handle their tough, tough guards,” said head coach Tim Cone during the post-game presser.

“Tonight wasn’t our finest hour. You know, we weren’t clean tonight, we weren’t sharp tonight. (But) I’m really proud of our guys for the effort they gave tonight and for all the, you know, they didn’t get frustrated, they showed a lot of character playing tonight,” added the league’s winningest mentor.

Aljon Mariano contributed 17 points while LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar added 13 apiece. Joe Devance chipped in 12 while Scottie Thompson, Prince Caperal and Jeff Chan scored 11, 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

The Gin Kings take a 1-day break and then dispute solo leadership with the Tropang Giga on Friday, November 6 at the same venue.
