WATCH: Justin Brownlee with the mid-air magic!
Confined to a resolve role for a long while now, Stanley Pringle got a surprise tap to start Friday and he responded big time.
Pringle essentially started it all for Barangay Ginebra with an 11-point explosion in the opening quarter topped by a perfect 6-of-6 three-point shooting for the night as the Kings repulsed the TNT Tropang Giga, 117-103, to regain control in the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.
With an extra hot gun in Pringle, the Gin Kings beat the Tropang Giga in the most explosive game in the series thus far and in the process moved within two wins of a Governors’ Cup three-peat.
Coach Tim Cone and his chargers go for the pivotal 3-1 lead in Game 4 Sunday, still at the Big Dome.
Pringle finished with 22 points while Justin Brownlee was back in his old form and wound up with 29 points on top of eight rebounds and five assists as the Kings recovered from their 95-82 defeat in Game 2.
Jamie Malonzo had his own big night with 27 points also marked by six treys while both Scottie Thompson and Christian Standhardinger had their 16-10 double-doubles in the game marked by the return of Japeth Aguilar (scoring two points in 4:51 minutes of action).
With tremendous firepower from their starters, the Kings erected an early double-digit spread but needed a strong finish to finish off the gritty Tropang Giga.
