WATCH: Last practice before Sunday Gameday!

Brgy. Ginebra, the fourth team to win back-to-back PBA Governors’ Cup titles in league history, tries to repeat the feat, starting their chase of the lofty goal as they battle Alaska Milk at the Ynares Sports Arena Sunday.
The Gin Kings are bringing back Justin Brownlee in a bid to defend the crown and duplicate their back-to-back championships in 2016 and 2017.

To start the campaign, the Gin Kings curiously face the team which is the record-holder of four straight Governors’ Cup championships. Alaska, under now Ginebra coach Tim Cone, reigned supreme in the Governors’ Cup from 1994-97.

Ginebra and Alaska clash at 6:45 p.m.

Cone will have at his disposal his core group that also had a championship run in the 2020 Philippine Cup Clark bubble. And the roster has been beefed up by Christian Standhardinger and Sidney Onwubere.

Alaska also tweaked its lineup, and the team has shown a good promise in its back-to-back wins to start the tourney.

Coach Jeff Cariaso and his troops scored an 87-85 cliffhanger over the NorthPort Batang Pier Wednesday then pulled off a 99-94 upset of the San Miguel Beermen Friday.
