WATCH: PBA Bubble Life Day 2 [Workout and Practice]
Coach Tim Cone and his Barangay Ginebra Kings were finally released from their Quest Hotel room isolation Thursday and were to start their crash training at the AUF facility Friday, with their sights set on being in best shape possible in time for the PBA Season 45 Philippine Cup restart on Oct. 11.
Except for the absence of Greg Slaughter, the Kings will set out for the battle for bubble glory with an intact lineup from their Governors’ Cup title run.
“We haven’t practiced for months. We’re trying to get the guys in proper playing shape, and that’s the important thing,” said Cone on The Link podcast of veteran sportswriter Rey Joble.
In a compact two-month-and-a-half tourney where teams play every other day, Cone said they have to be careful in utilizing players.
What could well be a key edge for the Kings is their roster laden with veteran warriors led by LA Tenorio, Joe Devance, Stanley Pringle, Japeth Aguilar and Scottie Thompson.
