WATCH: PBA Bubble Life Day 21 [Shoutout Time]

Stanley Pringle and Japeth Aguilar provided the firepower as Brgy. Ginebra ran over erstwhile co-leader TNT, 85-79, Friday night in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup restart at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Pringle paced the Gin Kings with 28 points to go along with 12 boards, 2 assists and 2 steals while Aguilar added his own double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds as the league’s most popular squad won for the 3rd time in a row to improve to 7-2 which is good for solo top spot in the team standings.

“I think they just had a poor shooting night. They didn’t have a lot of legs because they played yesterday. Three-point shooting is a lot about fresh legs and I just don’t think they had their fresh legs tonight,” said head coach Tim Cone during the post-game presser.

“We said at halftime that we were lucky because we had the lead because they missed all their three-point shots in that first half and they were open ones. Even down the stretch, Jayson Castro got an open three and missed it. As much as I want to credit our defense, I don’t think you’ll see that twice in row with Talk ‘N Text. They are just too good of a shooting team,” he added.

LA Tenorio exhibited his best performance inside the bubble as the 3-time PBA Finals MVP came through with 15 points highlighted by 3-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc to go along with 5 boards and 9 assists in close to 39 minutes of action.

The Gin Kings take a day off and then clash with 5-time reigning Philippine Cup champion San Miguel on Sunday, November 8 at the same venue.
