Where’s Mark, Arthur and Aljon? Tim Cone bares reason behind trio’s absence in PH Cup roster

The names of Arthur dela Cruz and Aljon Mariano were conspicuously missing from Brgy. Ginebra’s opening-day roster for the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.

Gin Kings head coach Tim Cone, however, made the assurance that the two are very much a part of the team and that the only reason why they were not included in the line-up was because both are still recovering from injuries.

“They are currently recovering from injuries. When they are healthy, they will return to the lineup,” wrote Cone on Twitter in response to fan queries about the status of the two players.

Mark Caguioa, meanwhile, was in the roster but was listed under Injured/Reserve.

Cone disclosed that the 41-year old Fil-Am is still in the US currently attending to ‘family matters’.

“Mark is still in the US attending to family matters. We expect him to return soon. He has management’s full permission to be away,” explained Cone.

The Gin Kings’ roster released by the league on opening day was made up of Jared Dillinger, Kent Salado, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, Arvin Tolentino, Stanley Pringle, Prince Caperal, Brian Enriquez, Jeff Chan, Raymond Aguilar, Japeth Aguilar, Christian Standhardinger, Joe Devance, Kent Holmqvist, and MJ Ayaay.

The crowd carlings open their title-retention drive on Sunday, July 18, 4:35pm against the NLEX Road Warriors at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
